ART FUNDRAISER OCTOBER 2ND, 2004

PRESS RELEASE

Scum of the Earth Church Members to host Art Exhibition and Fundraiser to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

What: Denver CO – Members of Scum of the Earth Church will be hosting an art exhibition at The Construct, 3519 Brighton Blvd, Denver, CO. [mapquest it] Most art will be available for purchase during a Silent Auction which will take place between 7 and 9 p.m. on October 2, 2004. All proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver.

Who: AF double IC is an art collective consisting of Scum of the Earth church members. AFdoubleIC stands for ‘Art Facilitating Identity in Christ.” We are pleased to invite you to our second show this fall entitled, “A Voice for the Voiceless, A Home for the Homeless.”

What inspired our pieces?
Our goal was to create an art show based on people’s lives and the intriguing thoughts each person has on a variety of subjects. Each artist conducted an interview with a person of his or her choice. The interview asked questions ranging from ‘Where were you born?’ to ‘What are your thoughts on death?’ By using the answer to these questions as inspiration for their pieces, the artists gave a ‘Voice to the Voiceless.”

How the silent action works:
The artwork for sale will have a number next to it. There will be a price sheet with these numbers; bidders will write the price they wish to id next to the number of the piece they are bidding on. No bids will be accepted after 9 p.m. At 9:15 the highest bidders will be announced for each piece. Winners do not have to be present to receive their pieces. Arrangement will be made for the pick up of pieces after the show.

Who receives the proceeds?
All money collected will go directly to Habitate for Humanity of Metro Denver. For this reason, you pay for purchased artwork in cash or in the form of a check made out to ‘Habitat for Humanity.’ Sorry; we do not have the ability to accept credit cards.

We hope you can attend these events. Any and all support is appreciated!
